The 2nd and 3rd graders also created beautiful fall leaves. After talking about color, shape, and texture these artists got right to work. They started by drawing a leaf shape on newsprint, which added an intriguing layer of texture to their final pieces. They then colored in the leaf with oil pastels. These artists were challenged to create shapes within shapes, and to design interesting and balanced compositions.
