Colored Glue Fall Leaves

At the beginning of the year, I love to start with a fun project that is engaging, a little messy, and very colorful. This project fit the bill, and was a great success. After studying leaf shapes and colors, the 4th and 5th graders created their very own fall leaves. These leaves were created with a plan and a lot of colored glue. The artists were encouraged to be creative and to experiment with the materials. Some swirled colors together while others layered color over color. The final results were great expressions of color and shapes.
